Immi table

 Ovo je nas novi projekat: IMMI STO (tako se zove jer je sladak:). prikazan je prvi prototip, a uskoro ce i finalna verzija biti zavrsena, koju cemo izlagati na Mikser festivalu 28. maja.u zgradi Geozavoda. Nismo mogli da odolimo da napravimo par fotografija koje bi podelili sa vama. Kako vam se dopada?

 This is the first preview of our newest project: the IMMI table (that's it's name because it's cute:). It's only the first prototype, we're still working on the final version, but we couldn't help ourselves in taking a few photos to share with you. Immi table will also be exhibited at the Mikser festival in Belgrade in May. How do you like it?

Interior inspiration

White walls most of the time give an impression of simplicity and clean cut, but they are not the only solution. Grey walls, with the concrete ahead of all also fit into this category, but I've just recently discovered the awesomeness of dark blue, and dark green walls.

As always I fight a battle between minimalistic simple interiors and ones filled with details, memories and stuff, the ones we actually live in. Here are some examples on how to efficiently cover bear white (and gray, and blue) walls.

And last but not least, covering white walls with colors, that is patterns, and wallpaper!

Tijana's work: re-use of stuff!

This is a fish-keeper net that I found to be a very beautiful object, just dying to be seen and re-used.I love the fact that it has a flap on the bottom and top, making it very easy to use for storage, and also it's water resistent. On the other hand its very decorative, the petrol color, the shape, the shadows it makes...I cant believe its main purpose is to stay a meter under water full of fish!well, not any more!

have you always wanted to become a designer?
When I was young I only wanted to paint and draw, that took me to the school for Design later, and that was the first time I realized I wanted to become a designer. 

which project has given you the most satisfaction?
I really don't have a favorite project but if I had to choose one it would be the "Plate" table set, because I designed it for a friend's new apartment. Knowing she likes it and use it is what gives me the most satisfaction.

what types of books are on your bedside table?
Books on bedside table? Aaaarrrr :D (such a nerdy question) I read books very rarely, I do read magazines though! Mostly about architecture, design or cars. One thing that I also have on my bedside table is a sketch book in case I get some interesting ideas in the middle of the night. 

what is the best moment of the day?
I like to sleep in, so for sure,it's not morning. I think the best moment would be around noon because I am still fresh and ready for work.

who is your design hero at the moment?
Internet! The biggest source of inspiration. I don't have a hero but I have a list of products whose designers I respect. 

cat or dog?
Dog! I got two...

what would be your dream project?
Hmm... The one with no deadlines and no financial limits. It is also very important that a project brings creativity to my mind.

where could we find you on friday night?
I like to spend evenings with my friends, but where we go is of no importance.  Usually we end up at some nice cafe downtown.

If you could do any other job what would you choose and why?

Motocross rider. I like extreme and dirt sports like motocross, quad races or mtb downhill.

Pepsi or Coke?
Both! Just needs to be cold and with ice!

If you were a character from Star Wars, which one would you be?
Chewie! Ghrrrr

How would you define your personal work-life balance in terms of ratio (50/50 70/30 etc)?
Sometimes 70/30 and sometimes 30/70.

What brings you joy? 

My friends and family, my creation, riding my bike and sleeping...

wednesday interview: Sonja Tonev

have you always wanted to become a designer?I must say YES! I don't remember wanting to be anything else besides designer, except when I was about 4 or 5 - then I wanted to become a fairy!
I was one of those kids who were drawing all the time. First I wanted to be a fashion designer, but soon I changed my mind and realized that interior design is my desired field.
During studies I decided that I would also like to work in other fields of design, like product and furniture and that I would like to explore ceramics and textile design further.

which project has given you the most satisfaction?I'm satisfied with the project which gets people's attention. So far that is definitely the multifunctional "Flank" lamp which was recently published on many design websites and a few days ago I was notified it will be published in April's issue of UK's ICON magazine. The other project which I'm also very happy with is an interior of a small apartment in Belgrade where I could try out my skills as an interior architect for the first time and I am very pleased with the outcome.

what types of books are on your bedside table?I usually read relaxing books which can take me to distant environments. Sometimes I need a brake from reality and that is what calms me down and brings a creativity to my mind. Besides books, on my bedside table is also the Frame magazine which brings me inspiration each time I open it.

what is the best moment of the day?The morning. There is an entire day in front of you and you still have no idea what you might experience by the night time. 

who is your design hero at the moment?Nendo, definitely! Their recent furniture collection Splinter is so similar to my ideas of a chair design which I worked on last year and this isn't the first time I find myself connected with their work. I love how their interiors and products are so aesthetically simple, but always have those admiring details and materials with which they completely knock me down.

cat or dog?Dog, of course.

what would be your dream project?Tough question! I would like to work on retail interiors for high fashion brands, but I would also like to work on interiors of spaces like museums, galleries and exhibition designs, because I think that is where you can bring your creativity to life the most. On the other hand, I love designing household items. 

where could we find you on friday night?With friends at a pleasant bar with calm music or at home. I'm not really a party person.

If you could do any other job what would you choose and why?

 Well, I love traveling so if I had to choose one different job, I would be a pilot.

So, today is interior inspiration day, but it seams  I made it furniture inspiration day...and here it is: little painted interventions that make a whole lot of a difference, a new, modern and bold edge to a maybe decayed piece of furniture...It seams to me it's simple to do, and it gives off even a smart look if need be!

life style: in house colors...

Today I felt the need to color coordinated ! And the colors in question are: BROWN, TURQUOISE and RED, in other words: old-school, modern and classic! and each pic has something new, something old, and something to read! :-)
I think it's important to have splashes of the same color in an interior, whatever it may be, it makes for a clean cut look. 

Inspiration today

I'm a bit obsessed with glass and pottery lately. Raiding the internet I, of course, found millions of awesome examples, but then I decided, stick with what works: scandinavian glass!!!!! I matched them with color matching,and style matching interiors...just for fun.

At grandma's...

Today I spent a day at my grandmothers house, its full of memorabilia like lot's of grandmother's houses are...these are just some of them that caught my eye, the ones on the right are made by my grandma!:-)

Here's little bits and peaces of our studio, we did a little redecorating, and there is still lot's to do, but we feel like it's just a matter of time!...fingers crossed!!!
