Hello Mermaid

Za vikend se desio dvodevni muzicko umetnicki festival "Oslobadjanje", a smesten je na reci Savi na Zabrezju, Obrenovac. U okviru umetnickog programa, moje kolege i ja smo slikali na platnima dimenzija 2m x 2m. Moja digitalna sirena je "ozivela" i na platnu.

This weekend I was guest at the music/art festival "Oslobadjanje"(Liberation). It's located on a river Sava at Zabrezje, Obrenovac. My friends, also an artists, and I were painting canvases 2m x 2m and my digital mermaid is finally "alive" on a canvas, too.

Fake Polaroid day

Uvek mi je zabavno da se igram sa laznim polaroid slikama, tacnije uz pomoc Poladroid programa. Daleko od toga da moze da se priblizi pravom polaroidu, ali daje tu zabavnu notu kao i kod pravog, a to je da nestrpljivo cekas da se slika pojavi. Drveni decaci na pretposlednjoj slici su delo umetnika Marka Crnobrnje. 

I always have fun with fake Polaroid photos. There's an old program called Poladroid I use to make them. It's far from being that good as real polaroid (well, of course), but it gives you that interesting part, a waiting for picture to shows up :) The wooden boys on a penultimate photo are made by artist Marko Crnobrnja

New drawings

Par novih crteza iz serije "Am I an adult yet". Uskoro je zavrsavam i prelazim na veci format kao i na slike. Nisam slikala bas dugo i jako se radujem susretu sa platnom.

These are the new drawings from the ongoing series of drawings "Am I an adult yet". Just a few more of them, and then I'm taking bigger format and also I'm preparing new paintings. 

Barbara's work: Bears and Ice-cream

Prva ilustracija je deo plakata koji sam radila za jedan konkurs. Zatim sam nastavila sa medama+sladoledi, s tim sto su ilustracije ispod predlozi za majice. Ispod sladoleda ce isto ici odredjen tekst, kao za medu iznad. U narednom periodu se bacam na olovku i papir, prilicno sam zanemarila, hajd da kazem, tradicionalne tehnike i jedva cekam da im se vratim.

The first illustration is a part of a poster I did for a Poster design contest. The second and the third illustration is my proposition for a t-shirt design. I'm not sure if it's ever going to be printed, because of some issues with the company, but I wanted to share this with you guys. Anyway, I'm in a bear mood, as you can see :) 

Flowers

Ovih dana se igram sa raznim jednostavnim oblicima, slazem boje, premestam, oduzimam, dodajem. Zabavno je. Zelela sam malo da se udaljim od crteza koje poslednjih par meseci radim i da se jednostavno vratim na neki pocetak. Cvece mi je bila inspiracija ovog puta i uzivala sam u stilizovanju istih. Ovakve igrarije su mi uvek dobar pokretac ka zahtevnijim ilustracijama.

It's always fun playing with different shapes and colors, trying to simplify object as much as you can so you can get inspiration for more demanding project. I was inspired by flowers.  

A dog

I really like this painting specially because it was a wedding present for my dear friends Ivana and Kim. I have a really big collection of bull terrier drawings and paintings and I always like to come back to that theme. It's a small preview of how it's made, phases and stuff.

New illustrations

Mermaid and the dog, or how I call it, Sea-dog is a new illustration and now there's three of them for series of drawings inspired by sea. The idea is to put them all in round frames, instead of this over here, and color of the frames will be neon yellow. I'm thinking of neon pink or white, also but will see. Those round frames are different sizes and some of them are really small. It's quite different concept from my previous productions, small round frames with intensive colors. Can't wait to see how it's going to look like. I will definitely show you all when I'm done with the details.

Otvoranje izlozbe "Medvedi u cast prolecu" na kome ucestvujem sa jednom ilustracijom, ce se odrzati u cetvrtak u 19h u UK Parobrod. Svratite, bice jako zanimljivih radova :)

Barbara's work

I'm starting new series of drawings inspired by sea, fishes, mermaids but also with a sushi and stuff like that. It will be new series but definitely connected with the previous one. I remember when I was a kid, I was obsessed with mermaids (Ariel is the one to blame;). I was drawing them all the time until my mom said to me, hey, if you want to become a serious artist you need to stop drawing mermaids and start draw "serious stuff". So I've stopped and I've began to draw all kind of different "serious stuff", and then I've finished high school for design and then academy of arts and now when I'm serious artist, at least I think I'm one, I can draw mermaids 'till I drop. So, this mermaid is for my mom, love ya ;)

Yes, this is also a part of my ongoing drawing/illustration series "Am I an adult yet?". I think it's not quite finish yet, I will definitely draw more elements, but it's fine for now. She had clothes, but I've accidentally switched off layer with it and I kinda liked without it. Maybe I'll make combination with clothes and different backgrounds. 
Oh, and yes, remember the bear from this post? well he's going to be exhibited on group exhibition "Bears-in honor of spring" with 29 other international illustrators.
